I've had a few problems with my water softener (Fleck 5600SXT, installed it over 4 years ago).
First, the salt level has not been going down.
There is also some corrosion.
And the worst thing is it has leaked large amounts of what I think is resin (blue/green sludge with a sandy/salty consistency) into my water supply.
Of course I have bypassed the softener now.
I could just buy a whole new system, but I want to see what others think before doing that, in case some components are saveable.
Also be interesting to hear any ideas about what might have happened.

Thanks,
Samer

The salt in the tank could be bridged over. Carefully take a broom handle and poke it through the salt and
see if it drops down or not. Not sure about the resin problem. Sounds like something let loose inside.
