The water in my area is pretty hard...lots of tiny rocks. I do not use a water softener. Every few years, I develope a slow drip. When this occurs is it a simple replacement of a washer that'll do the trick, or do I need to replace the entire faucet?

Thanks

A quality faucet can stand to be rebuilt more than a few times. But if you're not going to address your water issues, you're wasting money.

You don't need a water softener if you are bringing up tiny rocks. A sediment filter would probably do you a world of good and likely solve your faucet problems.
