Hi,

I'm wondering if someone can help me solve a mystery with our slow flushing upstairs toilet.

To try to fix it so far I've:

1. Plunged it.
2. Used a wire to try to clear water hole things under the rim to see if I could get water in faster.
3. Put dishsoap in overflow tube in tank.
4. Put drano and hot water in the bowl.
5. Put CLR in bowl.

So far, no help from any of these techniques.

I should also mention that the issue seemed to occur following when we had the main line from the basement to the city sewer snaked to clear a blockage. I don't know why this would effect the toilet, but then again I'm not a plumber. That being said, our first floor toilet is fine and every other line in the house is clear and draining fine.

Anyway, here's a video of the toilet flushing all slow:

And here's a pic of the inside of the tank

I'd be super thankful for any ideas!

You have a stoppage in the bowl.
Never heard of pouring dish soap into over flow!!

Go buy a water closet auger. Not the cheesy one but a good one.

the water that would normally sit in the bowl after you have flushed it is siphoning out. The stoppage near the is probably at the bottom outlet of the bowl at the flange or in the closet bend.

Awesome! Within 20 minutes of reading your response I had ran to the local hardware store, bought an auger, and cleared the clog.

Giant turd was the culprit.

Thanks so much for taking a minute to share your advice!
