I'm a new first time home owner and have noticed that a faucet outside of the house has a slow, persistent drop. The unit in general looks like it has two valves and a handle. The drip is coming not from the spigot on the bottom, but from the part on the outside right. I've attached two pics. The drip is right where the black rubber piece is, where there appears to be a part that a flat screwdriver bit would fit into. On the zoomed in pic you can actually see a drop, looks like a smudge.

I can follow instructions and am reasonably handy but have very it the experience in this area, so please be very clear...especially when referring to parts of the faucet by name as I'm likely not familiar with it.

Thanks in advance!

If I understand this, the leak is on of the threaded joint possibly just out of view. I am going to presume there is a pipe coming out of the wall that all this stuff it attached to. Move that white tag and tack a side view picture.
You will probably have to turn off the water to the house. unscrew every thing back to the joint that is leaking then screw it all back together.

Get a roll of Teflon tape . On each joint you take apart warp the tape going the same direction you would screw the fitting on. 2 to 3 wraps all you need.

If you have PVC coming out of the big valve with the bell on top you may have to cut that and repair when you are done.

Looks like someone maybe added an irrigation system to a hose bib outlet on the side of your house.

If that threaded joint that is leaking looks like it has rust it could mean they used a steel nipple and that nipple is deteriorated inside
