I installed a touchless kitchen sink faucet but the nut underneath is not tight. It's part number 18 on the diagram. Seems the quartz countertop is so thick that there's not enough threads for the nut to bite on. What are my alternatives for keeping the faucet from jiggling?

Can you round off the hex portion enough to fit up in the hole? Like with a grinder.

I didn't look at that very well. I'm not sure exactly how that mounts. Can you take a picture of the problem?

Unless they make an extension for the mounting shank, you’ll need to get another faucet that will meet your install thickness.

No magic bullets with this one.

I just checked and I didn’t see an extension offered. I didn’t think there would be......

Pick out a different faucet and make sure the mounting shank is long enough.

There's an inch or so of thread. Problem the nut included with the faucet (part number 18) needs more threads to tighten properly. I was told I could buy a brass nut like this picture and it should work. Don't know where to get it or what its called.

YEAH, Glacier Bay. Maybe a Moen knockoff for Home Depot

If it’s the same threads then that’s fine. If it’s not the same threads then it’s not going to work. Many different thread sizes and types.

I wish you the best.

Exactly how thick is your quartz?
Something is not adding up. Could you please take a picture on the bottom side of the hole, where you are installing the faucet?

It seems like the nut should only need to grab a minimal number of threads to catch then it'd be locktite blue to keep it from slipping if the friction screw setup wasn't available.

This is one where I'd be like "move over, let me do it."

This faucet has a quick mount nut that’s crap.

The whole faucet is big box brand crap.

Read the instructions, some faucets say to turn that nut contraption upside down for thick countertops

Obviously, there is wood support under the quartz. How about a hole saw to cut the excess wood away from the base to thin the mounting area?

You could add an all-thread extension (coupling nut) and some extra all-thread rod..... if you can find the right diameter & thread size.
Then make up for the extra length with a bunch of fender_washers, or some other material.

These single hole mount faucets have a tendency to get loose. Even more so when you start trying to make things work.

I’d return it and buy one with all metal mounting hardware.
