My following question was nonsensical, disregard.
I am just trying to clean the bottom of the toilet from just years of stain in an old apartment.
Just to make sure, I need to use a flat head screwdriver first to unscrew. I just am afraid it will strip as it is rusting.

vinegar and warm water equal parts, spray the metal, to clean the rust and stuff off of it 
paint the pipe in the corner to look like a tree, then add branch's at the top
LOL, add grass and shrubs on the tile,
