Hi,
I bought an older home last year, we have a full bathroom downstairs. My family only uses the sink & toilet. We are having a guest stay for several months & that will be her main bathroom. I was swapping out a shower head & figured i would run the shower for 10 minutes & check for a leak in the basement (love those drop ceilings - only in this case).
So I noticed a stain developing on the tile & went to investigate.
It looks like the copper is OK, discolored so its probably been an issue for a while. The previous owners did not live at the house for several years but did have a caretaker staying. He did not use that bathroom for showering. It is likely been 4+ years since the last time it was used.
The leak is a slow drip & I cant see specifically where its coming from but the pipe lower than the cracked putty is wet.
The shower pan itself is some sort of plastic or fiberglass prefab thing.
What should I do?
Thanks,
Rich
