I have what may be a basic question. I have a small bathroom in my basement that I am remodeling. I would like to replace the 38" shower kit(plastic) with a smaller 32-35" one. My issue is will I have to move my drain in order to get it to match up to the current position. The shower will be in a corner.
Thank you for any advice.

you will have to put a new trap and riser in the correct position for the new pan. you will probably have to remove the old pan first, Then determine where the exiting drain is running. You may have to bust up some concrete to relocate the p-trap

Figured that might be the case. I was hoping not to have to bust any concrete up. But bathroom is too tight with current shower. Thanks Mr_David

If you want to do a custom tiled floor instead of a pre-manufactured pan you can put the drain anywhere you want.
