My shower/tub came with the house I bought about 25 years ago. It's a fiberglass alcove unit that I'd like to have our plumber replace.
Went to a "bath showroom" to see what's available, but they only had about 3 samples on display and didn't seem eager to show me catalogs of others.
What's the usual process for a consumer? Have the plumber offer suggestions and bring photos, or try to find a more complete showroom somewhere? I live in Vermont, so I can't do big-city shopping.
I'm thinking of moving up from fiberglass, maybe to acrylic or cultured marble, but I have no idea what the range of choices is.
