Hey guys, new homeowner here. I was washing out some paintbrushes in my slop sink in the basement (about two feet to the left of the pipe in the photo) and noticed that the drain was running slowly. I looked to my right and WHAM, a small puddle of water is forming around this (what I assume to be) waste/sewer pipe that is semi-buried in the concrete (it slowly descends from fully exposed to fully buried into the concrete where it reaches the front of the house to head out to the sewer). When the water in the slop sink was actively running, I saw some bubbling occurring from the spot of corrosion you see in the photo, which is obviously where the leak is and where the water is coming out.
I think there's a backup in the pipe, because the slop sink water should go out to the LEFT, but the leak/hole in the pipe is to the right (between the slop sink and the toilets/shower pipes, not between the slop sink and the street), so there must be a blockage between the slop sink and public sewer that is forcing the water back up the line, past the sink and towards the house (about 2 feet).
My question is simple...how doomed am I (pipe-wise? cost-wise?) I know nothing about this kind of stuff, but I have to imagine that digging that pipe out of the concrete is expensive. Is there any way to just bypass the whole bad section with PVC? What are my options? Really appreciate any help/advice, thanks.
