Installing a Pelican Whole House Water Filter. California requires seismic strapping of water heaters. This is not a heater but a floor standing Charcoal Filter Tank with a smaller wall-mounted pre-filter. I calculate the main tank to hold about 9.5-10 gallons of water. The tank is 8.5" in diameter by 38" tall, standing on a ~ 6" base. What would be a suitable means to anchor or secure the tank to the adjacent wall ? I didn't find anything in the archive threads to help me answer this myself. All feedback is welcomed. David. 201023 Water Filter.png

My neighbor has this same set up and built a wooden box, 18" wide, 10" deep, and about 18" tall, secured to the studs in the wall, and has a hole in the top to allow access to remove them easily, but stops an earthquake from causing them to fall and break off your water lines. Plumber's strapping tape will also work, as would a water heater earthquake strap, since with many, the circumference is fully adjustable.

I appreciate all of the responses and recommendations. My first thoughts were to adapt one of the water heater strapping products to accommodate the smaller circumference tank. I was concerned I might be over-thinking the end goal as I sometimes have a tendency to do that so I figured it's time to get some outside feedback. The plumbers tape and spacer recommendation will be easy to implement and keep the tank secure should the situation arise. Thank you ALL for your time and considerations.
