We just moved in to a total fixer-upper. We actually had a renovation on the entire house except for the bathrooms (those are coming soon-ish). I'm concerned about showering in the stand up shower or tub/shower in the two bathrooms, because it seems like the seals around the floor and shower pans need some attention and we might cause water down into the floor cavity (both are 2nd floor bathrooms).

What do I need to do here?

Thanks in advance.

If you’re really going to do teh complete remodel soon and are looking for a temporary fix: HomeDesperate and Lowers both sell expanded PVC trim. You could install some of it with a good urethane adhesive, and get things looking better, and water tight.

Thanks, FishScreener. Is that easier than just caulk? I was figuring some silicone caulk and maybe some backer rods.

We are going to remodel them -- probably in 6 months or so.
