Hi guys

I have a drain cover in my basement I'd like to cover with wood flooring, but I don't know if I'm going to cause problems by doing this (i.e. airflow is needed by this opening). How can I know if it's safe to cover?

Tks

How do I know if it's a cleanout? This is a drain in my basement hallway. There's a drip line from my furnace that runs to this. It's covered by a drain cap with air holes in it. I can see water at the bottom of the drain.

Sounds like you have a floor drain, if so do not put wood flooring over it. Post a pic of it so someone could verify.
