I am in the process of buying another home and this one is on a tank for water. It is a 2100 gallon steel tank and it has rust on the inside. My question is do they make a coating I could use on the inside or am I stuck putting in a new tank? I don't mind putting in a new one but if I can save a couple grand I would love to.

Really nobody?

I did crawl inside the tank and it is not to bad just surface rust which can probably be cleaned out and of course a couple dead mice. Don't know how they got in there.

replace the tank... rusting water tanks means time to replace, adn if this ( as i assume ) is your potablle water then you need to make sure there is no possiblle way for vermin to get in, those dead mice would make you very ill being in your water supply, and there should be no way for them to come into contact with your water supply as they dont have to be dead, just able to get too your water supply, mice droppings and refuse are bad bad bad to be around.

The mouse was because someone left the lid loose, I may end up replacing the tank but I guess I should climb in and actually get a good look and check things out first.

Thanks, I have some epoxy that I use for water line installation on domestic lines but I am trying to get a hold of the manufacturer to see if it can be used in tanks.
