Hi,

I'm trying to replace an old shower bar with a new one. Upon unscrewing the old one I discovered two problems which I don't know how to solve or if it's possible.

1. The two bridge nuts seem to be stuck on the pipes on the wall.

2. Even if I can get them off, the shower bar I've bought is a fitting too wide for the pipes.

Is there a way of getting the nuts off the wall? They turn around OK but don't go anywhere. I don't know if I'm meant to pull them with pliers or not. And is there some kind of adapter I can buy to mean I can fit the shower bar on to the narrow pipes? I'm happy to buy a new shower bar if need be if it's simply not possible, but only if I can overcome issue number 1, as the bridging nuts are fixed on to the shower bar I've bought in the picture too, so I don't know if that is a common thing with any one that I would buy?

Thanks for your help.

John

Manufactured home? Remove faucet rough-in from behind wall and replace with entirely new faucet.
