So I have a kohler toilet with a "kohler" aka fluidmaster fill valve model 703. The part number is 84679-AA. Kohler says I have to replace it with part 1068030. I agree that would work. But I currently have a metal riser that I would like to keep because that part isn't leaking. Part 1068030 has a plastic riser that clicks into the fill valve rather than screws. In fact, all of the fill valves I can find have a click in mechanism to the metal riser whereby I need a screw in mechanism. Any ideas of where I could that would be appreciated. Oh and it has to be 11 inches or shorter. Lucky me. Thanks in advance for any advice.

What are you calling the metal riser?

Forget fluidmaster and install a Korky quiet fill falve. Completely universal, superior product.

That link doesn't offer what I want. Those tend to have the fill valve and riser connected.

So to clarify what I refer to as the riser, in the above link the white part I'm calling the riser. It is the part that connects to the bottom of the tank and the supply line through the bottom. The other part I'm referring to as the fill valve. The connection if you can see it is between the two pieces. But the connection on that valve is not a screw on connection but some sort of click on. I need a screw on connection if I'm to connect to my metal riser. Hope that clarifies my poor choices of words.
