I had a pendestal sink which I replacing with a traditional vanity. The trap need to extend 2 additional inches from where it is now to line up with the new sink hole. Please see the condition, I am trying to figure out how I remove the chrome piece to replumb this. I assumed there would be a Desanco fitting that I could just unscrew, but doesnt appear that way.

Thanks!

Have you tried pulling the chrome box escutcheon away from the wall to see what is underneath it? I am guessing that it has one of those desanco fittings (first time I have heard it called that, had to google the term), or a male adapter in to a threaded trap ell underneath it.

The escutcheon is pulled back as far as it will go. If you look close at the picture, the PVC steps down as it enters the wall, appears to be a glued joint there?? There is nothing to turn under the escutcheon.....puzzled, but I guess that is why I never became a plumber :). Here is another picture that I hope will help.

Thanks!
