In redoing the plumbing in my bath, I want to try and reduce the noise heard when the water runs or drains.

I am seen some post about running a pipe inside another, wrapping the pipe with insulation foam, and insulating the cavity in which the pipe is located.

What would be the best way to implement a noise barrier in a wall and in a floor?

I am not sure if this is allowed here (AD), but I found this helpful within a condo.

gNot sure what im to see here, It looks loke a Cast iron installation with mj connections. This WOULD be quieter for drainage noises ( as compared to Plastic DWV piping )

sound in a domestic water system is usually due to turbulance in the system ( excessive or sharp bends, kinks, or restrictions sometimes due to mineral buildup. )

So make sure that angle stops are fully open ( maybe replace the angle stops )
Check supply tubes,
make sure also that pipes are not anchored with heavy anchors to studs and piping is allowed to expand and contract w/o issues ( make sure drilled holes are straight.

What kind of piping are you dealing with and what kind of noises ??

the Tick Tick Tick Tick sound that happens with water running and then shortly after turning it off ( hot water ) is caused by pipes sliding and expanding and contracting on studs or hangars.

Correct, hubless cast for drain/waste and PVC for vent. Cost effective.

I had a problem in a condo with excess noise(s) and came across this system. I now have a new house with the 2nd floor waste running behind the living room wall. When the toilet is flushed it sounds like a freight train is coming through.

Another wall to open... :(

The actual website is shown in blue type above.

yeah, you can order CI pipe and fittings at any wholesale shop, I'm not so sure what's special about this "Quiet house system" other than they show an improperly installed cleanout in the picture posted above ( lav trap arm ) :)

Ci is quieter than plastic Dwv.
