Hey all,
I'm about to have a small bathroom renovated. To save money, I want to do some of the demo myself. I want to dismantle the vanity and sink. But I noticed the sink pipes seem to be glued together - not pieced together with the typical "screw on" connector rings (not sure what they're called).

I have almost zero plumbing knowledge or skills. So my basic question is:
How do I disassemble the pipes? Do I have to cut them or do need use a torch to heat up the glue? Thanks for the help.

Do not heat up those pipes! That would surely be a hazard which could burn your place down. For demo purposes, take a hack saw and cut the pipe after the first bend coming out of the wall. When it is time to replace the plumbing under the sink, you can easily replace the glued in pieces, after doing some finesse cutting near the wall.

Good to know. Will definitely stay away from the torch. Thanks or the insight.
