I have very basic skills for DIY involving plumbing, so hopefully someone with more experience can give me some advice.

With our old fridge, the water dispenser on the front was always very slow. We thought it was because it was an old fridge, but we just replaced it and the new fridge also dispenses very slowly. I went into the crawl space and found where the line comes off of the water line running to the sink and dishwasher. I've attached a photo. I was thinking that maybe this junction or line is too small, which is constricting the flow? It has a valve with a little handle on it which I've never seen before.

Is this the problem? If this is the standard connection, what else might be the problem? Could it be the flexible hose? The sink has great water pressure.

Thanks for the help!

check your filters.

where the water hooks up to the fridge, looks like a hose conection.

screw that valve in he picture, to the right, all the way. turns off the water

unscrew the hose conector, look inside of it. you shold see a screen filter. remove/replace with clean screen

does your icemaker have a cartridge filter? change it out, dirty filters will cut your water flow by 75%--85%
