I recently purchased a home that was build in 1979. It’s my first house on a well!
I’ve been having issues with the water pressure dropping before the pump kicks on. I was going to start by replacing the pressure switch on the jet pump.
The problem is I can’t find any stores that sell ones like this?? It’s an old Furnas switch. ( I will attach pic). Should I be switching it with a newer style??

thanks

What water pressure issues exactly?

More details please.

Your switch is designed for 20 psi ON, 40 psi OFF.

So pressure will drop to 20 psi before pump comes back on to jack it up to 40 psi.

20 psi is really weak pressure IMHO.

It looks like you can raise both pressures by tightening that shiny screw, not the black plastic looking screw.

That’s if your pump and well tank can take more pressure.

Maybe a well and pump pro will jump in here to help.

Also, “water pressure” problems are often actually “water flow” problems, due to a restriction somewhere in the system.

There could be a clogged water softener, water filter cartridge, clogged faucet aerators or valve cartridges, for example.
