Group,
New to the forum and hope your expertise and experience can help me out with my cottage project.

I have a 1500 US gallon poly tank that is being used as the water source for our cottage. There will be a jet pump drawing water from the poly tank but I am concerned about my pipe routing.

The pump and the tank bases will be at the same elevation as they are both sitting on the same concrete pad. Elevating the pump is not a great option as the tank is in a 4 foot crawl space and the tank itself has a height of about 43 inches. The tank does not have an outlet at the bottom of the tank, and installing one would be quite tricky. The top access is at the center of the tank, so you can not reach the bottom by hand.

So, with all of that said, my pipe routing plan would be as follows:
- straight pipe with a check valve at the suction point inside the tank, routed to the top of the tank up to an outlet at the top of the tank
- a short straight pipe attached to a long 90 deg elbow
- straight pipe another long 90 deg elbow (facing downwards)
- straight pipe to the final long 90 deg elbow (facing the pump) and then the straight pipe to a ball value and then another straight pipe to the jet pump

A rough PDF sketch is attached for a visual reference.

Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.

Thanks,
Brian

The high spot in the suction line is not good, as it will collect air and cause the pump to lose prime. I would either put the pump on top of the tank and draw from below like it was a shallow well, or throw a submersible in the tank instead of using the jet pump.

I"m all for the submersible pump in the tank.
Your long ells, are you using sewage pipe? You really want to use pressure PVC for whatever you do.
