Hello all,

When I built my home almost 20 years ago, I installed a drain in the basement floor which drained to a dry well (gravel pit). It was just for emergencies--if the basement flooded due to a busted water heater or something. It never saw any use as there were never any issues. But over the last two years, there have been three times that--following heavy rain events--water has ended up coming up out of the drain and flooding the basement. Kind of ironic, if one were to think about it

Anyway, I want to seal it and was looking for opinions for the best method of doing so. It's pvc with a metal drain mesh and concrete poured around/on top of it. So there is no way to use any kind of standard cap to stop it up. It needs to get filled up with something that will seal it and keep it that way and I'm just not sure what that something is.

Any advice or comments at all would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Amos
