I have a 50-year old home. In the basement, I have a pair of 1/2 inch copper pipes coming out of the floor, near a 2.5 inch hole. These are near a front-facing window. I wonder if these pipes are for a buried gas/oil tank?

Twelve feet away is a room with three holes in the floor and two more identical pipes going into the floor. As they go under the concrete, they appear to go towards the other two pipes. I would like to eventually finish the basement, so I need to know what the pipes and holes are .

The holes are 3.5, 2.5, and about 3 inches around.

Thanks.

If there is a basement, I doubt they would have burried an oil tank. I hear two half inch lines and a 2 inch hole I'm thinking old sink lines. the other set with 3 holes could be an old sink, maybe with washer drain and floor drain possibly. or two sinks and a washer..haha. Older homes often have drain lines under concrete in basement, but water lines in concrete puzzles me. Maybe the builder made a mistake and had to abandon the lines.
