I was in Lowes picking up some fittings and i saw a product called CONNECTITE from Charlotte Pipe. I KNOW some of you old timers have an opinion on these. So lets have it. and be honest. Are these even code compliant ? ( in your particular area? I live in Virginia)
i have used shark bite fittings in the past but only for temporary situations until i get around to sweat or glue thee fitting.

Seen them but never used them. My opinion is I have enough Stock on truck with glue fittings. And since glue fitting is cheaper then glue gets priority. I have heard a few good things. Far as speed and such but clean glue and done is fast enough for me. And a glued fitting can’t spin when connected. I need most drain fittings to hold tight. I would not use these for pressure . I don’t even use pvc for pressure. Don’t let anyone scare you from shark bite. Those little expensive things work. Period. The man putting them on might not know what he doing but they hold.
As with sharbite. The seal is on outside of pipe. So the outer wall must be smooth and clean as a baby butt. Or the O ring can’t seal.

O and if you see blue glue (rain tight). Laugh and keep moving. Use purple primer and green label glue. Good luck with experiment.
