Hello,
I am working on remodeling our second floor bathroom. One of the plans is to move the toilet over a few feet. I'm not sure how to get these two pips apart. One is the old pipe from the toilet, and it is going into a flange coming off of the stack. It seems like there is some kind of solder or something joining them together. Here are a few photos:

After I get them apart, I'd like to run PVC. I wouldn't mind some advice on how to join new PVC to the old stack flange, too.

Thanks,
Josh

That is cast iron pipe, and that is a poured lead joint. I can't be certain from the picture, but I doubt that it is possible to attach to the tee if you were to cut the flange off, there probably isn't enough there to get a hold of.

Your best bet is to access the stack below the tee as well, and cut the pipe above and below, then use transition band couplings to splice in a new PVC tee.

Thanks - Is there any way to separate the poured lead joint?
