I recently put a double sink in my kitchen where a single sink use to be. The single sink drained without a problem for years. Once I hooked up the double sink the water drained very slow. I thought it was because I hadn't attached the dishwasher yet which would allow for the pipes to vent, but once I did that then the sink stopped draining all together. I am very doubtful that it is clogged as it drained fine up until changing the sink. That would be a huge coincidence. I will attach an image. Please any help is appreciated.

I'm going to say you have a venting issue, but I'm not an expert. Your IP shows us that you are from Canada. We have a few experts here that work in Canada, so maybe they can help you once they get done with their plumbing jobs.

I see your problem. plan as day...

your draining a 2 compartment sink into a garden hose.a.gif

most comical thing i have ever seen....if you were to put the car's radiator hose back on the car and plumb that sink correctly

it will drain.

sorry,,,not trying to be a rude and obnoxious American, but damn,,,,is that legal up there?

the plumbing inspector here would snatch that out of the wall and chase you down the street with it.!!

I dunno Frodo, that looks like copper to me, but I'm working off a small screen so I dunno.

Changing the sink you might have shaken some debris loose and plugged the line. Snake it. Hook up your dishwasher, you aren't venting anything by leaving it loose. The vent is for the trap, not the fixture

DAMN"T MATT!!!!! I blew the picture up,,,it IS copper.

I was all happy being a smart ass and you came along and peed on my cereal

still, looks woefully small.

Boomshow, would you please verify the size of that pipe that I was COMPLETELY wrong in assumption.

pass the hot sauce...this crow needs a little spice....

Not to pee in your cereal again, but it's 1 1/2" copper. I spot a 1 1/2" copper x 1 1/2" bow adapter.

While you are peeking, how is the tread on the poster's tires? Damn Matt, all I see is a dark tube under the sink!

He will get this summer out of them, new ones next year!

There's really nothing with this set up that wouldn't allow it to drain. The drain is now clogged. Run a snake through it (NOT LIQUID PLUMBER) and I bet a bowl of partially urinated cereal you will solve your problem.

Did you try putting your snake up into D? If so, I think you need a bigger snake so that you are not just poking a small hole through the clog. I wonder if a small Brasscraft inflatable bladder would fit through D into the trap arm.

Correct it is copper. I have tried a whole thing of draino. I will try a snake to see if that helps. Thanks.

ewww....stop using that drano.

if you are going to use a snake after dumping that stuff in there

get some rubber gloves and a face mask. that stuff is very nasty and will burn your skin

tip...slide the snake up into a garden hose. that will keep it from flopping around on the floor

Dude......put your thinking cap on for a minute.

You just loaded your pipes with a corrosive chemical......you have COPPER drainage. DWV Copper is very thin. Unless you get that line clear and flowing in a hurry, you potentially just caused a huge mess.
