I have a water heater that is failing so I need to install a new one. The current one is a short 30 GAL tank that is under the air handler, a poor set up, so I am taking this opportunity to move the new water heater to an adjacent closet and do it right.
I am a fairly handy DIYer and have installed water heaters before, just never moved one to a new location and just want to make sure my plan is watertight ( pun intended)

I plan on using the corrugated flex supply lines from Sharkbite, with a ball valve on the inlet side. Connecting those to PEX, was going to use CPVC but read a lot about how it fails. Running the PEX down through the floor into the crawl space where it will connect to the existing PVC. The pressure relief will be piped through floor and outside. Water heater will sit in a pan.

Am I missing anything? I have never used PEX but it sure seems like its a piece of cake.

Thanks in advance for any help.

sounds like a pretty solid plan depending on where your located your water meter may have a check valve installed on it or if you have a check valve on the main coming into the house you will need an expansion tank also not to big of a deal but the pipping that is going to be outside for the t&p needs to be something that wont break down in direct sunlight pex will break down in direct sunlight so will pvc and cpvc I usually plumb mine in copper switching from pex before it penetrates the wall
