I had my oil furnace serviced today; the tech checked my oil fired water heater and the stack temp was over 800 degrees--he suggested I think about a new water heater. The anode rods are also completely gone.
It's a Brock (yes, Brock, not Bock!) IB32R tank with a Carlin burner. Would I need to replace the burner as well or will changing out the tank take care of the inefficient heat loss I'm getting?
The tank is over 10 years old, installed by previous homeowner.
thanks!
