I need to cap a 1 1/4 inch pvc pipe that has male threads. This is part of an indoor residential drain. I see caps on the web that are schedule 40 and schedule 80, but I don't know if either of these will work. Any ideas? Help would be very appreciated.

SCH 40 or SCH 80 will work. Are you sure it's 1-1/4"? Most are 1-1/2" or 2". 1-1/4" is made but it isn't used very often.
