I don't have much plumbing experience but my situation is this, I have a 3x3x3x2 sanitary tee in the basement that broke, one of the 3" pipes that goes to the bathroom snapped off when I was replacing the toilet flange. What would the best way be to replace the tee? There is not enough room to cut it off and run new lines with a coupling. As a stopgap measure I had to cover the broken hole in the tee with tape until the replacement arrives.

Can't see how much room is below the fitting but if there is enough room it would be easier to put a 3x2 Y below the double and replace the existing fitting with a DBL TY.

Me if I had the same tee I could remove the old tee, and just use 1 new coupling on either the top or the bottom of it, you may not want to use a pair of double wyes or double Tees if that is the main vent on top.

I am a complete newb, can you tell me the best method for removing the old tee?

A hammer and a chisel break off the old tee, clean up the pipe ends, cut the top line slide in a repair coupling then glue in new tee. Would take me about an hour start to finish.
