I have double sinks in my bathroom but I just use one sink. Currently the trap is in the middle and there are 2 pipes coming out of a T that joins the trap (1 pipe goes to one sink, the other pipe to the 2nd sink). My "T" broke and rather than buying a new one I wanted to see if I can just go from trap to sink in use and do away with the "T". Problem is the pipe leading to the wall in the cabinet is in the middle of the 2 sinks, not right behind the sink as you see in single sink fixtures.

James, I would not advise disconnecting the other sink basin. If you ever need/want to use it or plan to sell the house, it is better if it is kept up to code.

I'd say SHR is right and that you can just replace the part with another T.
