Manufacturer unknown.
Need both hot and cold. Stem shown is the cold stem.

Handle design is not original. Was ceramic crosses we believe.

It almost looks like a Koehler. What's wrong with it?

Bring it to your plumbing supply store so they can identify it and set you up with a replacement. Remember to get the matching seats and you can also get original handles to replace the universal fit style you took off.

What is wrong is that I have multiple leaking faucets with these (1930's building) and want to repair them if possible.

I have taken the stems out in the past and showed it to multiple people at OSH and Home Depot in Los Angeles. Neither chain carries anything appropriate. However my handyman advised me to take the search outside the chains and ask, so I'm doing so here.

I was told that this Crane stem and associated handle might work -

Have you tried just repairing your current stems? Lube them with silicone plumbers grease, change the washers and replace or re-surface the seats in the wall. Easy, just labor intensive. That is why I almost always replace when working on someone else's faucet-cheaper than my labor charge. On my own faucets I always replace seats but any other parts only if necessary.

Did the store help you identify these? I have the same exact ones in my house and am trying to figure out how to repair/rebuild them.

Brands off the top of my head that resemble that stem is crane, lenhart, and briggs. The problem is every supplier copied another design and just tweaked it. You might be better off putting new valves in. It is code that a multi dwelling building has to have pressure balanced valves anyway. Changing valves can get expensive. But by the time you had in all the time trying to identify a stem it might just be easier. Just a thought
