recently bought a house, never seen one like these before that stops the water so the tub can fill up, what's the full exact name/title of it? and can it be purchased at a popular store like home depot?

it's not the actual photo but that's what i have in the bathroom next to tub and needs to be replaced

if the part that you pull up and turn come all the way out, does it mean it's broke or necessarily has to be replaced (i'm having problems uploading pics too)

Try attaching photos again. There was a serve change and I the photo attachment glitches has been fixed.
