Mold/Mildew taste in kitchen water

The water coming from the lines in my kitchen tastes terrible. There is a bad moldy/mildew smell and taste. Both the water from the kitchen faucet and filtered water through the refrigerator dispenser seem to be affected. The rest of the faucets in the home seem to taste fine. My sister also lives in the same neighborhood and her water tastes fine. I called one plumbing service and his suggestion was to put a filtration system in... I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas what could be causing this and how to fix it? Thanks

I suspect mold in the walls behind the sink and or fridge

to be safe, stop immediately drinking any water from the kitchen, have your water tested

go to a walgreens, get specimen cups, fill with water, seal,
take them to your health department, for lab testing

the cost is like 5 bucks

Agreed. No point in asking the internet what it is. You are playing with your health. Have your water professionally tested.
