I have found Two of these Moen faucets at two different homes leaking at the cartridge nut.

Both faucets have never been taken apart as reported by the owners.

I tightened each nut and no more reports of a problem, YET.
One was 8 months ago. I looked it up.

I believe Moen may have a problem. At least with a batch of them......

If you have one it might be wise to check the cartridge nut.

The repair manual says the cartridge nut must be changed when the cartridge is changed.

Here’s the picture that my customer sent.

Notice the water at the base.

I went snd found the cartridge nut loose. Second cartridge nut loose I’ve found. Different style moen though.

I just replaced one of those last week. The new cartridge comes with the new nut in the package. This
one leaked out of the cartridge but tightening the nut didn't help at all.

Yes that’s correct. This faucet has never been worked on. The customer bought it a few months ago.

I would have them call Moen for a new one as you know those cartridges are expensive.

I tightened the cartridge. They didn’t need another one. The nut was loose.

Me making another service call would cost them another $125.00 to install their parts.
