Why would there be a grey water meter box in my basement floor? It's not even very close to where the water main enters the home (from underneath the floor) and where the shut-off valve is. This box is also not in the path of the water main as it enters (it enters to the left of the shut-off valve, this box is pretty far to the right of it as well as several feet inside the wall).

Hell, I dont know, its your house.

open it up, might be an old speakeasy gansters stash of $100.00 bills

maybe diamonds. or it might just be a clean out cover. never know to you pop the lid a look inside.

word of caution, tap on the lid before you open it, it something taps back....run

looks electrical, probably a pull box

I had thought it was electrical too, but then I noticed it said "Water Meter" or something close to that on the lid (at the bottom) alongside Jones Mfg Co across the top. It was just odd. It doesn't appear to be easily opened and I don't have the key or anything.
