Hope someone can help me with this strange issue.
We had our hot water tank go bad - it is in the attic (Texas) and we switched to a secondary unit that was already installed next to it.
Took the first one off line.

Hot water was restored but the pressure in our shower (about 30-40 feet away from tank in the rear of the house) has barely any hot water pressure at all, nor do the bathroom faucets. The rest of the house has normal pressure.
Disassembled the plumbing in the shower including replacing the thermostatic valve... no change at all.
Accidentally found that opening both the hot and cold valves on the bathroom faucet right by the shower returns the shower pressure to full!
Just opening cold or hot doesn't seem to have an effect, but with both open the shower pressure is normal.

Any ideas on the problem? I've had 2 plumbers out already and they just tell me to get a new tank.

Thanks for any and all help!
Steve
