I recently lost hot water in my upstairs shower. Works fine in all the other showers and sinks throughout the house. All that I've researched indicates it's the mixing value. The unit/house is 22 year old. I replaced the outside part, the valve that determines hot versus cold water coming out(not sure actual name). After replacing that part, still no hot water. I then tried leaving that valve off and just turned the water on. Through the two holes, I felt the cold water and the hot water. It wasn't the hottest but it was definitely very warm. So once the valve was placed back on, nothing but cold water.
As a side note, in the last month I've had a weird thing with sink faucets where there would be instant hot water as expected but I would have to run the cold knob for a minute or two to get cold water. Maybe related somehow. Oddly, that problem seems to have resolved meanwhile the shower is now acting up. Any ideas or suggestions what to try next? I attached some pictures of what I am working with, and the part that I had replaced that didn't seem to fix anything.
