Hi everyone,

I have a Danze Parma D405558 faucet in the kitchen (found the manufacturer's diagram here: http://danze.com/products/pdfs/D405558_ip.pdf) It has a spout that swivels horizontally (left/right) and it's leaking right at the lines where the swivel/spout assembly joins the body of the faucet (basically part 7 on that diagram.) The faucet is only a year old, so I really don't want to have to replace it.

Is this something I can repair myself? What parts should be replaced? Or should I just give up and get a new faucet that doesn't break after only 1 year?

I'd really appreciate any help!

Do you have exceptionally hard water that might be leaving mineral deposits on the seals? If not, leakage after only one year isn't a very good record.

It appears as though you would need to replace the Orings (part #8) to repair the leak.

You need to replace the o-rings (part 8). The retailer where you purchased the faucet should have replacements.

Alternately, take it outside and set it on fire and never ever buy a danze again, since they are the devil. :p

Is replacing O-rings something a non-handy person like myself can do?

Yeah, should be fairly simple. Unscrew and remove the handle (parts on and 2 combined). Parts 3, 4, 6 and 7 should all lift straight up to remove (leave 5, that is your cartridge and controls water flow, the other parts surround it).

You should then be looking at a long tube of brass with some o-rings on it. Remove the rings, clean the brass and put new o-rings where you removed the original. Replace the parts in the order removed.

Danze is a high end faucet, same as a Pegasus from Home Depot aka Globe Union Faucets.

Must be different in the states, up here they are considered crappy disposable faucets from a company with terrible customer service.

Actually I agree with that statement, totally. Can't find parts, customers get swayed by "Oh this one is a nice heavy faucet and it was on sale... so we bought it."

When I get told it is a pegasus or danze faucet over the phone, I tell them to call customer support, call us when you get the repair parts. "Get as many as you can." and I never hear back from them.

I'm not complaining. They remind me of Kohler. 5 pounds of brass and 5 years of misery if you're willing to wait that long before ripping them out of your home.

I wanted to post my experience since this thread is very negative about Danze's customer service. i had a leak in my Danze bathroom faucet's spout assembly. They immediately sent me a replacement faucet along with all the pieces I needed to install it at no cost to me. I received everything within a week. They never even asked me how old it was(5 years?) so they must have a lifetime warranty.

Danze has sent me the following repair parts after 10 years of use:
Hot and cold ceramic valves
Aerorator
Base for side sprayer
Cold handle assembly
$8 shipping so I can't complain.

As for Kohler Forte centerset lavoratory faucet had a hot ceramic valve leaking after 8 years. I couldn't get the handle hub off so they shipped me a new faucet for no charge. Not even shipping.
Love Kohler- Danze has been good too.
