Hi all. yes I saw a thread similar to this started in Dec but...lots of responses and my replies on page two. Given my countertops arrive late this week i need to get my issue solved pdq. i hope it's ok i've started a new thread?

Home Depot designed our kitchen, we told them what LG dishwasher we wanted and all has been good (actually HD kitchen design team....well just don't use them) we went to install the dishwasher this week and the instructions are specific as to how the drain hose needs to be mounted otherwise we'll void the warranty. I've been in contact with LG support to no avail.
see pics I've attached. if we mount the drain hose as directed we will see it when we open our cookie sheet cabinet (opens same direction as the dishwasher), sure we can tuck in in the back and ok if we have to fine, but directly next to the cookie sheet cabinet is a 3 drawer cabinet (that opens to the opposite side of the 'L" and opposite to the dishwasher/cookie sheet opening). There is not enough space to route the hose and still have the drawers open. Then we round the bend so to speak and have to get behind the 3 drawers to the left of the sink...which we can do. i think there's enough space to put in a high loop then into the sink cavity. ok so here's my question. Is there a specific reason why the hose routing has to be as the manufacture says? i.e. the hose must rise 8" shortly after leaving the dishwasher? if so could I just put this rise in behind the dishwasher then route the hose down and along the floor? or just route the hose along the floor for 6' then rise? The manufacturer is not budging on their specifics. the HD design team is washing their hands of the whole thing. ps the hose as shown in the pics will be moved

Cut the hole where the directions say cut the hole.

Then run the drain as high as you can go then start sloping down slightly all the way to the sink drain connection.

It’s that simple.

I see that cabinet facing opposite of the dishwasher.

That might not have been a good idea. You might have to alter that cabinet or wash your dishes by hand. 🤣

:) the wife wont' be doing the dishes if there's no dishwasher. i might be buying myself some gloves.
maybe i route the hose as per LG, then go from far back left corner to the front right corner and hide the hose with a false floor in the cabinet. then route the hose behind the first 3 drawer unit. see pic
this would keep the hose parrallel to the floor for a bit before it raises up to the high loop.
looks like cookie sheets will still fit. will it meet code?

Maybe I'm blind but, per the instructions posted there is no 8" height requirement. The hole made in the cabinet should be within 6" of the floor and 4" of the wall. The drain hose and supply line need to exit the back of the dishwasher in the 8" wide by 3" high opening manufactured into the base. From there you can route as needed.

Exactly

yea got that thanks
I would think you could route the hose any way you want after making the prescribed exit. Being that far from the sink, you will be leaving a lot of water in the hose lying on the floor, I would hope there is some kind of check valve to stop the water from comming back into the washer, but I guess it would be the same even if they were sided by side. But overall the design team screwed you with that layout without telling you about it.
