I have a Kohler single handle kitchen faucet. I would like to replace the valve which has started leaking. I've taken the handle off but I can not get the bonnet off. I have tried grabbing it with a rubber jar opener, rubber gloves, etc. but I can't unscrew it. Any tips or tools that would help with this? Thank You.

Thank You.
The valve mounting nut came off with the bonnet. I couldn't get them apart.
I put everything back together and it seems ok. I called Kohler and they will send me a new bonnet and valve mounting nut.
When I originally installed the faucet I used plumber's putty between the faucet base and sink. During this repair the base moved and I'm afraid I broke the putty seal....a little water leak inside the cabinet. Kohler doesn't have a rubber gasket for this seal so plumber's putty again? I replaced my bathroom faucets with Kohler's and these had rubber gaskets under the base.

plumbers puddy again ? yes sir

roll out a line that looks like a straw, put it under the faucet,, tighten down.
use a tooth pick go around the faucet all the excess will come off

Thank You, again!!!
