This happened to the old ladies who live across the street from me.
Their pvc pipe had dropped completely off from the threads under the drain.
I put it back on but the nut would only tighten to just snug and one more even little turn by hand it would back off so I couldn't get it on tight.
There was no washer so we picked one up a Menard's, not a cone shaped plastic washer but one that was flat with an extended part that would go into the pipe but which end does it go into--the nut end or the drain end?
I put it into the nut end like the worker at Menard's showed us but I wonder if it goes the other way. What bother me is that the nut will not tighten and that is where it is leaking. The nut does not seem to be cracked at all.
TIA
