On the weekend I attempted to replace our kitchen faucet, but ran into a problem with removing the old one. I've attached photos of the faucet, and what it looks like under the granite counter-top. There isn't any sort of nut or below counter mounting hardware except for the C-Ring that appears to be holding the supply line in place. Note that when I turn the fixture, the supply lines rotate and don't cause that ring to move. I've tried to remove the ring from underneath with force, but haven't been able to get anywhere with it. In fact, if I didn't know better I would say that C-Ring is cemented in place. Any ideas or tips would be most appreciated! I'm stuck at this point.

I think that is a Grohe faucet.
As I recall, that has to be removed by starting from above.
I think you have to carefully yank off the long curved spout by pulling straight up.

But don’t do anything until someone who knows better posts more info on this.

I will see if I can find a link to better info.

It also might be another brand just copying the Grohe style.

Meanwhile, it looks like there might be an allen screw access hole in the faucet base, on the left side.

See if that does any good when loosened or removed.

Water shutoffs turned off first, of course.

Take another picture from underneath, but from farther away.

What is that long chrome tube that turns to rough brass just under the mounting ring?
Is there a nut on the lower end of it?

Thanks. I did remove the set screw on the side, which allowed me to pull up on the neck. I found some diagrams of Grohe faucets as you mentioned, and when I pull the neck up I was hoping to see a nut underneath the neck that can be undone which would drop that c-ring from above. No luck, and I can see anything inside that would allow me to undo something etc. to loosen it from above. I've attached a photo. Basically just a hole straight down, and nothing like another screw or nut inside.

I've also attached another photo from further away, and the brass piece is not a nut. It's just a smooth tube. And oddly not secured or attached to that c-ring in anyway. It's a very strange mystery.... Thanks for your suggestions!

Your new photo from underneath is closer, not farther away.

I want to see what is on the bottom end of that mystery tube.

Maybe the tube unscrews, which loosens that C ring?

Oh Sorry, I have it hooked back up now but will snap another photo. But that tube is the supply line that that the main hose leading up through the faucet attaches to.

Ok, so now I'm wondering. That center 'mystery' tube is definitely the supply line, however I didn't notice that at the point where you disconnect the hose from, there is another short brass piece and then just above that the main 'mystery tube' appears to be nut shaped further down. Perhaps just try turning there?

Photos attached.

Jeff, thank-you so very much. You are a genius! That, and I clearly was too focused on the hardware closer to that c-ring! I tried again, and unscrewed that mystery tube (photos in earlier reply), and boom. Off it came! New faucet installed, wife is very happy.

Thanks again, I really appreciate your help!
