I want to use one of the braided steel cables to hook to the fridge to install a water line for my ice maker. The braided steel cable I have has a 1/4" Inner diameter threaded female end:

I have a shark bite quarter turn stop on the pipes:

Can I connect the 1/4" cable to the quarter stop with an adaptor like this:

I would use teflon tape on the end of the quarter stop.

NO Teflon needed. You should be able to attach the braided hose fitting directly to the stop valve.

both ends of that hose should be the same.
1/4" compression. just take the nut and ferrule off the stop valve and screw on the hose. DO NOT use any tape
