Hi all
I have an electric boiler that is attached to an indirect water heater tank. The tank has sprung a leak and I need to replace it. Tanks range from $1700 to $2400 (CDN) just for the tank. If I go direct tank I can install it on my own all inclusive for under $1000. Even with the new electrical requirements.
My question is I how to I cap off the boiler inlet to the old tank and how do I cap off the outlet from the old tank. I know I can just use a “sharkbite” but one side has a pump. Should I remove the pump?
I attached a bad picture. You can just bearly see the red pump at the extreme right of the picture.
