How to unscrew the plastic nuts of a kitchen faucet

Hi
I want to change the kitchen faucet but I can't remove the old one. the nuts are rusted and i couldn't loosen them with wd-40 etc ..Is there a special tool for this job ? Do I need to remove the sink to have better leverage ?

I attached the photo of it. I am talking about the white nuts that I circled in

Those are designed to be installed and removed with just your fingers, but I have found when I need a bit more persuasion, I reach for my basin wrench.

A basin wrench will work but Ridgid makes a wrench just for that.
