Is there any specific tricks or methods to sloping drain lines properly or is it just simply man handling the joints to where you want them? I cant seem to find any videos or instructions on how to actually physically apply the proper grade to the drain pipes, just info on the 1/4 inch per foot etc. I am extending drain and water lines in a basement bathroom on monday and i feel comfortable with everything except for sloping it properly and keeping it in that position. Im having a hard time wrapping my head around how to slope pipes that are all at 90 degree angles or 180 seemingly.

Can someone explain how to do it in simple terms possibly? Thanks so much if so.

Buy two levels one 12" and the other 4". Buy the hangers that support the pipe from the bottom and top.start from the last fixture at the highest elevation ,considering joists.as lay pipe use the level, now for fittings and turns remember 45 degrees is considered vertical in the plumbing world.
