You sure it is a Moen?
Try this link and see if you can find your valve here.
Maybe with some more info, I can help.

Im 99% sure its a moen. the inside pipe is about .75 inches wide and the outside pipe is just under 1.5inches wide.

it is threaded into the valve on the underside..not mounted

In the firwst picture underneath the soap buble looks like a notch. That may be a retaining ring. It does not thread out underneath. that is one piece I believe

yeah the retaining ring is what i need to remove in order to replace the cartridge for the diverter . i can't figure out how to get it out.

I see no retaining ring and I don't see one listed in the parts diagram.

When I have issues and I have a model and part # I just call their tech support.

No! You don't need that tool.
That was for an older style faucet like a Monticello.
If a special tool was required it would show it in the diagram.

Looks like your ready to pull. If you just want stem out. Or maybe a flat head to turn the brass inner collar counterclockwise then pull. But moen makes them tight and water deposits tighter. If you can get a moen puller it will come right out. Or pull straight no wiggle out. But I suggest finding a ferguson express or plumbing supplier of your choice and getting the tool. You could break something

It won't pull out , don't want to use to much force. We have hard water so it could possibly be stuck. I put some clr in there . Maybe that will help.

yeah it could be stuck and just needing the puller. They don't have a long puller so the regular works. I get a deep socket that will match the rim of the bigger brass body then put the puller on. Once you see the puller it should be a "lightbulb". I have never damaged one with a puller but I have only done a few over 30 maybe. So can't give a 1-100 stat yet. If you get worried then call the plumber the local hardware store recommends. He is cheaper and his family depends on it. And chances are he is a real plumber not a text book salesman.

Ps no one has given you plans for a diverter. I don't know that much about the Internet. But those are just valve diagrams. Diverter a are separate peice all together. It will be a stand alone unit. I can make any valve work with any stand alone diverter. So the diverter isn't "included" in a diagram of a valve. Is it a 3 or 4 position diverter and what year was it bought?

Ps no one has given you plans for a diverter. ?

Thanks for the help, but look again. Post #10 was taken from the OP's link to the fixture he has. That is the diverter for his unit.
The second diagram is only in regards to the tool I had mentioned earlier.

And I understand why you made the PS comment. reading and absorbing every detail in a post can sometimes get past you. I do that sometimes.

My bad I did look over that diagram. It's ready to pull. All the retaining nuts at off.

no luck pulling it out..any other suggestions. i appreciate all the help!!
