Hi everyone. I have an old 1957 house in Florida and am remodeling one of the bathrooms. A few years ago, I switched out one of the toilet flanges to a plastic one, but I don't recall having so much trouble removing the steel one that is deteriorating. Now that I'm working a few years later on this current bathroom, I'm kind of stuck and don't know or remember how these are connected. It's a cast iron drain and don't know if the steel flange was originally screwed on or does it just pop or snap off? If I have to cut it out, what do you recommend I cut it out with? Then of course I have to get a plastic flange that connected to the inside of cast iron which you can get from Ferguson from what I remember.
Thanks for any tips,
Rick
